The Lutheran Choralaires

The Lutheran Choralaires were formed after World War II by a group of young men with a love for their Lord, a talent for singing and a desire to bring the Good News of God’s love to His people.

Through the years they have supported and advanced many Lutheran activities, but their main purpose has always been to proclaim Christ in song.

The members represent a variety of professions (including retirement) and reside throughout the metropolitan Detroit area and the southeastern Michigan counties.  They donate their time, talent and treasure for most appearances, finding reward in the satisfaction that comes from singing the Lord’s praises, while also enjoying the fellowship of each other and those they meet in their travels.  Their spouses are an integral component of the success of the Choralaires, for without their patience, moral support and encouragement, the men of the Choralaires could not accomplish their mission.

Financial Aid

The Student Aid Program of Our Shepherd Lutheran School is designed to provide some assistance for young people who wish to attend Our Shepherd and have financial need. The aid, when issued, can be applied to tuition and/or book fees.

Each applicant must complete an application each year that aid is desired. Since the primary criterion in the awarding of aid is financial need, each application includes a financial statement to be completed by the parents. In addition, the applicant must secure a recommendation from his pastor.

SUMMARY – To be considered for the Student Financial Aid Program you must:

1. Complete an Application Form. (Please see the school secretary for an application form or apply online at TADS.)

2. Secure a recommendation from your pastor which is to be submitted along with the Application Form.

It is fully understood that the Day School Committee is the sole determiner of whether aid is given to any student.

Boy Scouts

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

For nearly a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through nearly a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
